Location

The Dalmacallan site, owned by Forestry Land Scotland and a private forest investor, lies centrally within the Dumfries & Galloway Council area and is located approximately 4 kilometers to the south of the village of Moniaive.

Vestas and Force 9 Energy are committed to giving local businesses every possible opportunity to share in the financial and employment benefits of the construction and operation of the Dalmacallan Wind Farm.

If constructed, Dalmacallan will offer opportunities for local businesses such as accommodation providers, hire companies, fencing contractors, tradesmen and machinery plant owners. COMMUNITY BENEFIT
At the heart of our approach is a strong commitment to supporting the communities that host our projects. If approved, Dalmacallan Wind Farm will bring a payment of community benefit, of around £9.7 million over its lifetime. This funding will be available, from the commencement of operation of the wind farm, to support local community projects in the region.

Vestas and Force 9 Energy would also like to explore the possibility of community shared ownership of this project and want the community to help shape what that could look like . While it is too early for detailed decisions, we are keen to understand whether there is interest in community shared ownership in the project and to hear any initial ideas.
