In 2014 Force 9 Energy was granted planning consent by South Lanarkshire Council to build a wind farm on land between the villages of Douglas and Crawfordjohn.

The wind farm has now been constructed and is owned and operated by Statkraft UK Ltd.  The project consists of 11 Vestas V117 wind turbines and has an installed capacity of 36.3 MW.
