Force 9 Hosts Successful Moray Wide Community Ownership Workshop
Force 9 Energy and EDF Renewables held a successful ‘Community Ownership in Renewable Energy’ workshop event in Elgin on Friday 24th November. The workshop was for community groups in and around Moray who are interested in the possibility of investing in local renewable energy projects, with a particular focus on the Clash Gour opportunity. The aim of the event was to provide community groups with a solid understanding of community ownership of renewable energy projects and some of the key financial and practical issues that need to be considered. Local Energy Scotland supported the event and there was a strong panel of speakers, including representatives from Local Energy Scotland, and Gordon Cowtan, a founding Director of the Fintry Development Trust.
There were also small group discussions and the event ended with a Q+A panel session. A total of 21 community groups were represented and Force 9 is now busy following up the considerable interest in community ownership that was stimulated by and following the event.
