Second Airigh Wind Farm Exhibition – and Presentations
Force 9 Energy were pleased to welcome 45 people to a second Public Exhibition, for the Airigh wind farm project, in the Templar Arts and Leisure Centre in Tarbert on 24th February 2017. At the Exhibition Force 9 Energy outlined the changes that have been made to the project design since the first exhibition, held in September 2016. This included how the feedback from the technical and environmental assessments, coupled with the comments received from the public and other consultees, have helped shape and inform the new wind farm design. This process has seen the number of turbines reduced from 17 to 14 and a number of other layout and design changes. Additionally, access routes have been changed, and the project name has been changed, all in direct response to feedback from local people.
Two presentations were held, at 2pm and 5:30pm. Force 9 explained the rationale behind the site selection and the emerging design of the wind farm; together with an overview of the financial and other benefits that the wind farm would bring to the local area, if constructed. 30 people attended the presentations, which appeared to be well received. Following the presentations there was a question and answer session which allowed local residents to make comments on what they had seen and heard, and put questions directly to the project team.
Force 9 Energy would like to thank all those who attended the exhibition and presentations. The information gathered is currently being analysed, and used to shape and inform the wind farm design proposals. The exhibition boards are available to download from the Airigh project page under link & downloads.
