Ouglassy Wind Farm Scoping Request Submitted

Force 9 Energy has requested a scoping opinion from the Energy Consents Unit of the Scottish Government for the proposed Ouglassy Wind Farm near Spittal in Caithness.  The request is made on behalf of Wind Power North Five Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary company of Vestas Development A/S, Force 9 Energy's development partner for this project.  The proposed Ouglassy Wind Farm could accommodate up to 9 wind turbines, each up to 180m to blade tip, together with energy storage, the combined capacity of which will be in excess of 50MW.

The Scoping Request asks the Scottish Government and through them the key consultees (eg the Highland Council, SEPA, HES, Nature Scot) what subject matter and assessment methods they will require in preparing an Environmental Impact Assessment Report to accompany the application for consent for the project.

Design work is ongoing which will be informed by survey work, responses to the scoping consultation and public engagement.  After all the relevant environmental information has been assessed an application for consent will be made at which point consultees will have the opportunity to make representations on the application.

A virtual exhibition providing further details of the project and the opportunity to provide feedback can be seen on the project specific website at https://ouglassywindfarm.co.uk/.
