Force 9 Energy Wins Top Industry Award

Force 9 was one of the winners at this year’s Scottish Green Energy Awards ceremony in Edinburgh, winning the ‘Best Community Engagement’ award for their ‘Clash Gour Wind Farm Shared Ownership Opportunity’, at the industry event held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre on the 6th December.

Force 9 were aware that few communities in Moray had the knowledge or experience of community ownership of renewable energy projects. In order to address this, Force 9 held a Community Ownership Workshop associated with the Clash Gour project. The workshop, which was supported by Local Energy Scotland, was widely publicised as being open to community groups throughout the whole of Moray. Attended by 37 delegates representing 21 community groups, it played a crucial role in raising awareness of community ownership, improving understanding of ‘no subsidy’ economics and importantly providing a platform for constructive dialogue with Communities across Moray.

Force 9 continue to put community engagement at the heart of all its projects and is delighted to have received this recognition.
