Clash Gour Community Ownership Event

Force 9 Energy and EDF Energy Renewables (EDF ER), supported by Local Energy Scotland (LES), will be holding a workshop on Community Ownership in Renewable Energy Projects on Friday 24th November, at the Alexander Graham Bell Centre, Elgin. The event is for Community Groups in and around Moray who are interested in the possibility of investing in local renewable energy projects. There is a particular focus on the proposed Clash Gour wind farm, which features an opportunity for community shared ownership.

The event, which will include breakout groups facilitated by community energy experts, aims to provide an understanding of the opportunities which exist for community ownership in renewable energy projects, and the key financial and practical issues that need to be considered.

A panel of speakers, with experience across a range of specialisms relevant to shared ownership, will give presentations at the workshop and be on hand to answer questions. This includes representatives from Local Energy Scotland and the Scottish Government’s Renewable Energy Investment Fund (‘REIF’), as well as Gordon Cowtan, a founding Director of the Fintry Development Trust (FDT). Gordon is also the author of the recently published book “Community Energy: A guide to community-based renewable energy projects”.

The event will be held from 1-5pm, but lunch will be provided from 12:30. Pre-registration is required with a maximum of two representatives per Community Group. Registration can be made by visiting:
