Force 9 and EDF Renewables announce Shelloch Wind Farm Proposals

Force 9 Energy and its development partner, EDF Renewables, has submitted a Proposal of Application Notice (PoAN) and a request for a Scoping Opinion (Click to View) to Stirling Council for the proposed 5-turbine Shelloch Wind Farm.

The proposed site, located approximately 12km South West of Stirling, is the same location that was approved in 2015 for the 7-turbine Craigton & Spittalhill Wind Farm. The Shelloch proposal is therefore being brought forward as an alternative to Craigton & Spittalhill Wind Farm in order to make best possible use of the wind resource on site.

Force 9 believe that proactive community consultation is an integral element of the planning process, particularly during the current Covid-19 climate.  Force 9 have therefore developed a Virtual Consultation room (click to view) that contains detailed information relating to the proposals and importantly both an electronic and printable comment form so that feedback on the proposals can be provided to the project team.

The project web page (Click to View) also provides information relating to:

  • A community benefit fund, which could be up to the equivalent of £120,000 per year for local communities.
  • A separate community ownership opportunity for local community groups; and
  • Opportunities for local businesses in relation to the construction and operation of the wind farm.

Force 9 would also welcome comments and suggestions, as highlighted above, on the economic benefits associated with the proposals.

Force 9 will also be holding a live question and answer session via interactive text. This will take place via  the project website on Wednesday 15th July (4-7pm) and provide an opportunity for local residents and other stakeholders to directly engage with members of the project team. The development team will respond to all feedback received during this event within 7 days.
