Deuchries Wind Farm Consent

Force 9 Energy is pleased to announce that Deuchries wind farm was granted planning consent at the Aberdeenshire Council's Banff and Buchan Area Committee on Tuesday 1st April 2014. The application received the full support of the local Aberchirder Community Association. Force 9 Energy was highly commended at the committee meeting for the way in which it had engaged with the local community and incorporated community feedback into the project design.

Deuchries is situated 1.5km to the east of Aberchirder and comprises 3 turbines, with a total installed capacity of up to 6.9MW.

The plans for Deuchries were formally displayed at a public exhibition in the Marnoch Church Hall, Aberchirder in October 2011. Over 150 people attended the exhibition to view the proposals and provided comments on the proposal through the public opinion survey. Following feedback received and continued liaison with the local community the scheme design was amended to significantly reduce visibility of the wind farm to Aberchirder and a 3 turbine scheme was submitted, based on this feedback.

We will continue to liaise with community representatives, Council officers and other interested stakeholders over the coming months to discuss the application and also the proposed community benefit fund.
