Site statistics

Dumfries and Galloway - 16km north of Dumfries, 1.5km east of Auldgirth

Planning Application submitted to Dumfries and Galloway Council (Application 12/P/3/0060).

Force 9 Energy has submitted a planning application to Dumfries and Galloway Council for our proposed Blackwood wind farm, located on the Blackwood Estate near Auldgirth - approximately 15km north of Dumfries. The proposed wind farm comprises 5 x 2.05 MW turbines, equating to a total potential installed capacity of 10.25MW.

Throughout the consultation process, and going forward, Force 9 Energy will liaise with the local community and appraise and update them as the proposals progress. The plans for Blackwood were formally displayed at a public exhibition in Auldgirth village hall in September 2011. Over 80 people attended the exhibition to view the proposals, and provided feedback through the public opinion survey. Following feedback received, and continued liaison with the local communities, we have now submitted the application for the proposed 5 turbine scheme.

*Please note that this figure is based on 5 turbines with a rated capacity of 2.3MW operating at 25.8% capacity (measured wind speeds from site) and assuming 3,994 is the average UK household electricity consumption in kW hours (based on DECCs publication Energy Consumption in the UK (2016).
