Force 9 Energy Appeal Cnoc an Eas Wind Farm

Force 9 Energy and its development partner, EDF Energy Renewables have jointly decided to appeal against the decision of the Highland Council to refuse planning consent for the proposed Cnoc an Eas wind farm.
The development would consist of 13 turbines (up to 44.2MW) and is located approximately 9km west of Drumnadrochit.  Force 9 Energy and EDF Energy Renewables have decided to appeal against the Council’s decision because they consider that the proposed Cnoc an Eas Wind Farm is an appropriately sited and designed wind farm. They also consider that, in taking its decision, the Council did not take proper account, in the planning balance, of the positive environmental and socio-economic benefits that the project would deliver for the locality and the wider economy.  The project benefits include a potential £9.4 million earnings for the Highland economy; and the potential for part community ownership in the project through a revenue sharing opportunity, in line with Scottish Government Good Practice Principles for Shared Ownership.
