Creag a' Bhàird Appeal

Force 9 Energy’s wind farm proposal, Creag a' Bhàird was refused by Perth & Kinross council on 18th March 2015.  Force 9 Energy has decided to appeal against the council’s decision.

The development would consist of 13 turbines (up to 29.9MW) and be located on land approximately 8.5km to the south of Aberfeldy and 8km west of Dunkeld on the south west of the existing Griffin wind farm.  The Council refused planning consent for proposal because it felt that the design did not sit well with existing wind farms in the area and would therefore have unacceptable landscape and visual effects.  The proposed windfarm was conceived and designed to complement existing wind farms in the area and as such Force 9 Energy has appealed the decision on the basis that the site is in an area which is recognised as having capacity for large scale wind development and there are no significant landscape and visual effects which should be considered unacceptable.
