Craigton & Spittalhill Wind Farm Submitted

Force 9 Energy has submitted a planning application to Stirling Council for their proposed Craigton & Spittalhill wind farm (Application 13/00728/FUL). The development is located in the Fintry Hills above the Carron Valley, approximately 12km south-west of Stirling, 6km south of Kippen, and 4.5km to the east of the village of Fintry. The application consists of 7 wind turbines each up to 125m (to blade tip) high with associated infrastructure. Each wind turbine will have a maximum rated generating capacity of up to 3MW giving the windfarm a maximum rated output of up to 21 megawatts (MW).

The Development is categorised as a 'Major Development' under The Town and Country Planning (Hierarchy of Developments) (Scotland) Regulations 2009 on the basis that the total installed capacity of the wind farm is anticipated to be greater than 20MW.

The plans for Craigton & Spittalhill were formally displayed at three public exhibitions held on the 23rd, 24th and 25th October 2012 in the local area at Kippen, Fintry and Howietown Fishery. The information from this consultation exercise along with the information gained from the EIA has fed into the design of the wind farm.

We will continue to liaise with community representatives, Council officers and other interested stakeholders over the coming months to discuss the application and also the proposed community benefit fund.
