Craigton & Spittalhill Wind Farm Consented at Appeal

Force 9 Energy are delighted with the decision (17th November) taken by the Scottish Government’s Directorate for Planning and Environmental Appeals (DPEA) to approve the proposed 7 turbine (21MW) Craigton and Spittalhill wind farm, located in the Fintry Hills, Stirlingshire.

Whilst the initial Planning Application was refused by Stirling Council earlier this year, Force 9 were of the firm belief that the robust and detailed technical information that accompanied the application addressed all technical and policy concerns raised in the Councils objection. An appeal was therefore lodged with the DPEA.

Commenting on the decision Andrew Smith, Head of Planning & Development said:

‘’We take great care and attention in how and where we design our wind farms, seeking to minimise visual and environmental impacts to an acceptable level. We are pleased that the Reporter’s decision affirms that we have done this successfully for the Craigton & Spittalhill project.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank the local communities and all the representative groups we have liaised with over the last 3 years for their time and input. We look forward to working with them and their communities as the project moves forward.’’
